Bryan Lewis Saunders is an artist who specialty is making self-portraits while on a variety of drugs. One of his more recent drawings is gaining attention as it was while he took bath salts.
Bath salts are synthetic drugs that have gained national attention from recent reports of violent crimes committed while on the drug. According to the news reports, the easily accessible substance contributes to violent and sometimes fatal outbursts.
After using bath salts in his recent self-portrait, Saunders attributes all the stories of bath salts attacks up to psychos going psycho. “It’s not going to turn the user into a face-biter”, Saunders says, “unless that person is predisposed to face-biting.”
So what does doing bath salts feel like? Saunders claimed it was the worst drug experience he had ever had.
“It made me angry, ornery, just gave me a real vicious angst,” he said. “It’s like a dark cloud of doom settling on your shoulders. Your brain gets really clogged. You just want it to end — I’d never ever do it again.”
